Within the Catholic community, November is traditionally the month when we remember, in a special way, our deceased relatives and friends.
On the first Sunday of November we remember, by name, those members of our faith community who have died during the past year. Their names will also be displayed on the sanctuary as we pray for them, and those who mourn them, in a special way throughout November.
Several years ago, in 1999, we have invited all members of our community to give us the names of their deceased relatives and friends and these were included in our Book of Remembrance. We have started to update this book to include the names of all those from our faith community who have died since 1999 but unfortunately have no record for November 2003 – October 2004, November 2009 – October 2010 and November 2012 – October 2013. We are very sorry that our records are not up to date, ask your forgiveness and ask you to please help us to update our records.
We also invite all parishioners to submit the names of any of their deceased relatives and friends. You can submit by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. However before submitting any names please check that they are not already in the Book of Remembrance 2016. Names should be emailed no later than Sunday 29th October.
Sunday 5th November: Mass of Remembrance for those members of our faith community who died in last year. Our Book of Remembrance 2017 will be brought forward at offertory.
